What is Ngāpuhi ki roto?
Here in the heart of Ngāpuhi are some of the most renowned orators and reo Māori speakers of today.

Our tamariki at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Kaikohe have access to world-class learnings and this unique mita, however many of our national reo Māori speakers and teachers have had to learn from such institutions as Waikato University, Takiura, Te Whare Wānanga o Te Awanuiārangi. Most formal institutions favour their local mita (dialect), sentence structures, colloquialisms and vocabulary, or lack consistency altogether, and so in mainstream reo Māori education these teachings are hard to access.
On our reo course, you'll learn:
-
Reo specific to Ngāpuhi ki roto, Te Pū o te Wheke
-
Expert grammatical sentence structures
-
Intricacies of our reo from expert linguist Victor Mokaraka
